Due to some security measures recently adopted, Apple has introduced a new feature in macOS Ventura that prevents applications from launching other processes through its Terminal. However, some SGO’s products such as Mistika VR Connect and Mistika Workflows need this feature for its full functionality.

In order to overcome this limitation these steps can be followed:

  • Launch Mistika VR App

  • To activate the streaming server just open a Terminal and type:

 /Users/<your_username>/SGO\ AppData/VR/config/streaming/rtsp-simple-server

Then press Enter

Optionally you can also navigate in Finder to that path and drag-and-drop the rtsp-simple-server file into the Terminal opened.

You can also open the file info properties panel and set ‘open with Terminal’ by default for all files of this kind, then execute it with double click.

  • Once the streaming server is activated, in Mistika VR go to Tools > Remote Session > Quick Session and click on ‘Start Session’. Although an error message will appear just click OK to accept it and the session will start. You will be able to connect to MetaQuest now.

Another option for all applications that will persist across shutdown and reboots is to disable SIP in macOS Ventura, then execute Mistika VR or Mistika Workflows apps normally. In order to do that you can follow the official apple guidesteps here:
