Introduction.

After the installation and configuration of StorNext-5 and when the cvfs service start could appear an error message related the time synchronization.

This is the error that appear on console.

SNFS Initialized                                           [  OK  ]

Warning: required time synchronization service is not running

Warning: required time synchronization service is not enabled

Procedure.

To fix this problem follow this procedure.

- Open a shell and become as superuser and type next commands.

- timedatectl

- systemctl enable ntpd

- systemctl start ntpd

- timedatectl

- timedatectl set-local-rtc 0

- timedatectl

- systemctl restart ntpd

- timedatectl

After this procedure if you restart the cvfs service the error message about time synchronization should not appear.

- service cvfs restart
